Building regulations
Adrian Forber is an approved partner in the Local Authority Partnership Scheme working with a dedicated building inspector at South Gloucestershire Council. They check all Adrian Forber Plan Drawing Services plans for every council in the land.
You need Building Regulations Approval for most building work involving extensions and new building. The Regulations are about how a structure is built and make sure that structures:
- are structurally safe and sound
- provide for the welfare of people using the buildings
- conserve the use of fuel and power
- prevent waste or contamination of water
- to reduce the transmission of sound
The regulations are made under the Buildings Act 1994. These Regulations are continuously updated. The latest change in 2003 dealt with sound insulation. Changes coming in 2004 deal with access for disabled persons.
