The cost of moving up to a larger house can be considerable. Apart from the increase in price that has to be paid, there are solicitor’s and estate agent’s fees, cost of removal, refurnishing and redecoration as well!
Many of our customers like living where they are, they like their friends and neighbours and don’t want to disturb their children with the upheaval of a move.
The cost of building a typical domestic extension is usually less than the cost of moving to a bigger / better house.
Reasons to move
The cost of building an extension may not increase the market value of a property by the same amount and the increase in space required cannot always be realistically achieved in the existing property.
